Welcome to week 29, Mama! Make sure to find some time to relax and recuperate each week. Not only is your baby bump continuing to grow, but you will notice weight gain in other areas of your body as well. Healthy weight gain in pregnancy is important and promotes a normal duration of your pregnancy and steady growth of your baby. You will find that weight gain is distributed not only to your baby but to your breasts, fluid volume, blood volume, fat stores, placenta, uterus and amniotic fluid. For some, this weight gain in pregnancy can bring up conflicting emotions. Don’t focus on the scale. Focus on the choices within your control, and if this is an area that you struggle with, discuss a plan with your healthcare professional that will be a balanced way for you to approach the weight gain that comes with pregnancy.
Your baby is 29 weeks! The most significant parts of development are mostly complete, and now the fine-tuning of systems begins! Your baby is getting ready for his birthday! Your little one has eyelashes and eyebrows, and the fingernails and toenails are growing. The defined fingers and toes move independently; the toes can scrunch, and the fingers can make a fist. You will soon feel those fingers grasp yours and be able to touch those tiny toes.
